Routine business for Scranton city council

The Scranton city council handled routine business for the month at its Sept. 8 meeting.

A public hearing was held on the sewer revenue loan and disbursement agreement with no written or oral comments received. The council voted unanimously to secure the payment of a $216,000 sewer revenue loan and disbursement agreement (IFA interim loan and disbursement).

Jason Miller with MSA Professional Services reported on the storm water study. A review of the current infrastructure, problem areas and possible solutions was presented.

Dawn Rudolph presented the monthly community center report mentioning rentals, bus stop, AAU volleyball and fundraisers. Chad Kirk gave the water, sewer and maintenance report. He discussed storm sewer vacuum and jetting and tree work.

The council approved the purchase of signage for Pond Park at a cost of $200 from Scranton Machine Shop. A resolution altering the number of library board trustees and the terms of the office was approved. The matter will be on the ballot at the Nov. 3 election.

Other topics discussed included community visioning program and fall clean up. No action was taken.  ~The Scranton Journal
